A wonderful way to create a craft area is by assigning an armoire to be your “room”. What will make this really work for you is to buy an armoire with a lot of shelves drawers and any other accessible nooks and crannies to house your materials. If you already own the cabinet, and it does not have much in the way of divisions of space, then a carpenter can help you revise it.

The other thing that will play a critical role in making such a unit effective is to label drawers and cubbies clearly. Otherwise, you will forever be floundering through to locate what you need, and more than likely disrupting the organisation of it all to regularly. I personally could not survive without my armoire craft “shop”, and know you will find it to be a wonderful addition to your home too.

Of course I wanted to show my appreciation, so I would quickly fill the frames with good photos and put them on display. When, and if the giver of the frame made their way to my abode they would always come across as genuinely happy to see that I had made use of their present.

All of this was fine and well for many years, but then one day I decided that the way too eclectic formation of the accumulated frames needed to be revamped, or possibly altogether ditched. I resigned myself to the fact that for a respectable amount of time I had exhibited the hodge podge and I was well within my right to create a grouping that I had chosen. No more random blend of bedazzled, gilded, antique, cartoon, oak, hand painted, sale, re-gifted, and brushed nickel picture holders would be what I placed on my mantel, office desk, or side table.

So that is how it came to be that I finally bought what I wanted, and ultimately configured a compilation a good looking ones. Now, each bunch has a consistent theme of cut glass, silver plated or ceramic. Several of the photos have also been updated, and without the first step towards compiling the ones that I liked, and that matched my décor, that would never have happened.

The first visitor, strangely enough was my Aunt Betty, who had given me many of the newly discarded old frames. I held my breath when she crossed the threshold, under the impression that she would be overtly insulted, and express that to me. But, she said nothing about the switch, and now I am hopeful that the result will be that she never gives me another frame again. I mean really, I did dutifully show her curious choices of photo frames for longer than any one would think necessary, and I think she and all the other culprits know it. And frankly, come to think of it now, she might not even remember that she gave them to me.

The moral of this story is that you should not let yourself be fooled into displaying unattractive items in your home out of a sense of duty or loyalty. Because things like your personal pictures are the very details in your home that should be cherished, not items that repel you.

Relax, this next bit does not involve attaching trailer hitches and trailers on to your cars in order to shuttle in a virtually endless supply of cans of paint to test on your walls. No such manual labour or grand gestures are needed here. In fact, the entire project can be handled without even loading up the backseat of your car, or the boot with sample colours. All you need are handy dandy swatches placed next to one another to judge what will and will not work.

The key here is to look at the various colours that you have decided upon for rooms that connect. You will want the scheme to flow from one space to the next, this is especially true if you can see the next room from the one you are stationed in at the time. If the shades clash, then you will never get an outstanding result, as they need to work well together. This little detail is what can make or break the overall look, and it is truly a simple thing to correct. Well, that is as long as you take the time to analyze your choices before having the rooms painted in full.

It is altogether much too common for a new homeowner to buy at will without paying attention to the details. That is precisely how one ends up with a cluttered, and unstructured space. Believe me the additional effort pays off big time, and the alternative is distressing. Get it right the first go round, and there will be fewer returns, less bickering, and the results you seek will be obtained quicker.

So sweet and simple are the guidelines that help me to nurture and keep my Fan Palm, Lemon Tree, and Chinese Evergreen. All you really need to do is poke your finger in the soil up to your first knuckle. If the soil is moist pass on watering it, if it is dry then water away. Sure, it is not scientific, and there are more concise ways of gauging your plants needs, but this works too. So if you are looking to get by, this is the best way I have found.

When you place flowers throughout a house, just simple little floral arrangements, a new vibe sweeps over the whole place. These are relatively small changes, but those details make a world of difference. So, my point is to remind you that sometimes it is the little things that really count. Try a few special touches during the course of your day, and reap the benefit.
