You can really spruce up your home with an array of living plants in your home. However, you must maintain those lovely plants in order fro them to add to your ambience. Many people are not quite sure of when you should water indoor plants. I was, for a very long time, and to the great detriment of several orchids, amaryllis and assorted other plants, one of those people. I tried to keep up with the different instructions provided verbally by the nursery, and those neatly typed up and accompanying the green variations. But, too many directions, and too little real interest made me a plant murderess if you will.
So sweet and simple are the guidelines that help me to nurture and keep my Fan Palm, Lemon Tree, and Chinese Evergreen. All you really need to do is poke your finger in the soil up to your first knuckle. If the soil is moist pass on watering it, if it is dry then water away. Sure, it is not scientific, and there are more concise ways of gauging your plants needs, but this works too. So if you are looking to get by, this is the best way I have found.
